Geshela travelling to India on September 2nd
Due to recent changes at the Indian High Commission in Wellington for processing renewal documents for Tibetan refugees, the board has been notified recently that Geshela’s Indian Identity Certificate (Tibetan Refugee book) must be renewed in India. This process now involves both the Indian Government and the Tibetan Bureau in India.
Lhagon Rinpoche has strongly advised Geshela to travel to India a full 6 months before his current card expires in March 2016 to guarantee it will be renewed on a timely basis. Geshela has of course agreed to follow Rinpoche’s advice.
Every year, as many of you may know, Geshela attends His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s teachings from December to January and visits his teachers. In discussions with Geshela it is considered best that Geshela remains in India until the end of January 2016.
Geshela has laid the foundation for continued practice during his absence, and has requested we continue a programme whilst he is away. The programme will include meditation practice, the profound teachings of “The Four Noble Truths”, pujas and tsogs. Keep an eye out for further details on place and times in the next email.

Sunday 30 August – Last teaching before Geshela goes away, and last teaching at 10 Michael Avenue.
On the day of the last teaching, Sunday the 30th August, the board will be making offerings and wishes of safe travels to Geshela and invites all to participate. If you wish to make your own good will gesture or offering please feel free.
Teachings with Geshela will resume in February 2016 at a new venue; details to be announced closer to the time.
